Margaret Clara Herring lived from February 5th 1929 until January 14th 2023. I hope this will honor her life and help my heart to heal from her passing. Margaret was also known as Marge or Margie, but I called her Granny. She will be miss

Here is a picture of her as a child and one of her with her mom and older sister Melva.

Her first marriage didn't last long, but my mother, Donna, was born from their time together.

She eventually married my Papa and had two children together, William Jr. and Patricia.

Before all of her natural children were out of the house they decided to raise my brother an me as their own as well. I called her Granny, but she was my mom.

After raising two families her need to nurture and care for life continued with fur-babies. No stray cat that showed up at her door hungry or injured was ever turned away.

She was not only kind and generous, but beautiful as well.

She also had a great sense of humor and could be very funny.

This has been to show you some of Granny's life. The next story that I hope to tell in the next few weeks will be about our journey together in the last months of her life as I cared for her in her home--it is a much harder story to tell, but an important one. Thank you for honoring her with me...
